buy it already done is always cheaper. the only thing I say about salvaged bikes is I"ve seen some really cheap 07 gsxr750's and 600rr's which would be worth getting salvaged if you can

Anytime you don't have to put parts and labor into a bike it's good. As for salvaged bikes they vary far and wide. From just fairings replacement to a lot more work ... |

So you are looking for a track day only bike, no full on racing season and no street(for this bike). I would look for a salvage title bike. You'll get more years of service out of it and by the sounds of it I don't think you need a full comp race bike.
