I'm looking at buying a house and my commute will be like 35-40 minutes. its only about 10 minutes longer then I've ever had to but still its kinda far.

I have an hour and a half One way for my commute.

But it's through some real nice hilly, twisty roads and it's worth the drive.

Great "time out" time for letting go of my personal life before work and letting go of my work life before I get home.

Do it. I'm sure you won't mind it especially after you get used to it.

Well, I am unemployed right now, so 0.

...But I live 50 miles from where I used to work (4 canyons between here and there) and 35 miles from school, and on the 2 days a week I did 100 roundtrip and 3 days I did 150 roundtrip. School was the opposite way as work was. I put 75,000 miles on my old Bandit 600 real fast.

HC, 35-40 ain't nothing around here. I only do 20-25, but have done the one hour one way crap. It's not all that bad. Load up an ipod and look at the scenery (hotties in other cars) and you'll be okay.

Depends upon the traffic. I have to go about 65 miles each way when I go in. There's two ways, the highway and the back way. The back way is longer, but more fun. The highway has 11 miles of construction, it sucks but I get there in about 1-1.25 hours.

I've lived places where it takes me 1 hour to go 6 miles because of traffic. Can't do that again. The 65 miles in only tolerable because I get to ride.

that's not bad at all man. been here in NYC, it takes me 1:30 to get to my job from home and I leave in the city itself because of the flow of traffic. BTW, that's driving from 5:30am to 6am, anything later then that then you'll have to add over 30 minutes to the ride.

but here's the fun part, late nights (with no construction and light traffic) would only take me 40 minutes tops.

This only applies to the bike. I go to work at about 3am so the roads are empty and I go the speed limit, but when I go home most are on their way to work so I have to deal with cagers and lights.
