the staying power of the 51

with all the new twins and Vmotor bikes coming out I think its funny for being a "fat, old, heavy, out of date" twin the RC still gets brought up as the basis that pretty much all twins are based off of. i've seen in in about 4 diferent articles as a "smart buy" for those wanting a twin, and praise being given for its handling and brakes. I just find it funny. sorry just thinking out loud

I know I miss mine. Probably the first bike I'd really ever say that about, too.

yeah there really is something about em. when you ride em all the gixxer riders give you crap for it being old and slow, whatever. but there is just something about riding and owning a 51 I can't describe. I love that bike

I've been waiting for that feeling for a very long time and now i finally got it. I loved my CBR, all of the CBRs i had, from 600 to 900 to 929 and 954, sure i loved my 1000 but I always had that WANT in my heart for the RC51. All I can say is that if i knew better then as i know now, i would of spent less on the CBR and leave it street to get a RC and hook it up the right way

but don't worry....i'm working on the one i have now very slowlly but is moving forward.

its funny when i had my F3 , my boy went out and got that TL and it sounded like a beast but man it was heavy fun to ride though.
I only rode joe's RC briefly but i think the RC would be a great bike to play around with

Let me know if you want Mikey V to work some magic on that thing - I think we were getting around 150 from the rear wheel on mine and all I know is that as much as I (honestly) tried to quiet that thing down, I never could. It got louder in fact, lol. Harley guys looked scared

Get some pics up, let's see those RC's!!!

Slick bike Davey. I'd love to see your motor mods list! Someday I WILL build myself another RC, a fully track dedicated monster. I'll be going for as close to a Superbike as I can. Here's my last one stolen from me in the summer of 2006. I've owned some other bikes since then, 1000RR, new R6, new 600RR, 748 - none of them floated my boat like the RC. I'll be back....

I know what you mean bro. I've never owned a bike that's as sexy as your hottest girlfriend, has more testosterone than the Hells Angels, and is just so DAMN much fun to ride. Someday I may have to have another
